When Ron was in Vietnam, a decorated 1st Cavalry infantryman was accidentally killed only 2 weeks before he was due to go home. It was December 5, 1970. At the time of the accident Ron felt most for the family that was about to receive horrible news.
Ron never knew the guy's name, but after some searching, he was able to find out who he was and was able to contact family members. They exchanged stories.
This is a song about a visit to Bruce's burial site. Ron had not made this visit when the song was recorded but he did do so afterwards and left a copy of the recording there. Just before leaving for home, Ron also left a tiny copy of a photo that Bruce carried with him. It was of a family member.
