Art and Ron's first musical encounter was at a mutual friend's house in about 1963. Ron was in the school band and played sax. Art had a Gretsch Double Anniversary guitar. When they began setting up, Ron discovered he didn't have the mouthpiece so the jam session never happened.
In those days, Ron's interest was jazz, and Art's was folk music. Who knows if it would have worked at all?
Later, Ron switched to guitar and Art traded in his Gretsch for the Stella and several other things. The rest is history.
In this recording, they perform a jazz song that Ron wrote back then in the style of the Dave Brubeck quartet. This might have been a song they tried in that first encounter. Now, it's finally happened.
Here, Art uses a Gretsch Double Anniversary that he's recently acquired and Ron uses his old (restored) sax.
"I thought of this title because it sounded like a song you'd hear as a theme for a morning TV show".
