The Artist: Claudette Gammon

Involved in art most of her life, she is self-taught having studied with Jeanne Lachance, and Sylvia Brofos. She has also take workshops with such noted artists as Scott Burdick, of North Carolina, and Don Andrews, formerly of Exeter, NH.

Her career began with the use of colored pencils as a medium. Her works have been published in three books, such as “The Best of Colored Pencils” Volume One.

She has also had a one-woman show at the now Southern New Hampshire University, and has won several awards including a “Best in Show” award at the Sharon Arts Center, Peterborough. She has exhibited her work at the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club in New York City, as well as the Currier Gallery, in Manchester, and “L’Ete Indien” in Andrezieux-Boutheon, France.

She is a member of the New Hampshire Art Association.

Born in Quincy, Massachusetts, she has lived in the Manchester area most of her adult life, and has retired from the New Hampshire Union Leader. She lives in Bow with her husband Rodney, and has a daughter, Sarah, who lives and works in Concord.
